Welcome to Global Maritime Survey

Impartial measurements you can build on

We offer a complete service for bunker deliveries. Our experienced bunker surveyors carry out quantity inspections and provide impartial, independent quantity determinations of marine fuels, whether the delivery is gauged manually or metered with a Mass Flow Meter (MFM).

We produce detailed reports confirming the delivery and noting any shortfalls, check the Bunker Delivery Note (BDN) for completeness, and support you in drafting a Letter of Protest (LoP) where needed.

How we work

From preparation to report

  1. 1

    Preparation & sampling

We set up the sampling equipment to ISO 13739 and collect the sample correctly, either as a manual drip sample at the manifold or via the MFM installation.

  2. 2

    Requisition

Before starting, the receiving vessel signs the requisition, confirming the quantity, quality and required pumping rate.

  3. 3

    Controlled transfer

Bunkering starts slowly to check for leaks, speeds up for optimal transfer and slows down towards completion.

  4. 4

    Final measurement & reporting

We take a final measurement on both vessels, calculate the exact quantity, check the BDN and thoroughly investigate any discrepancies.
